Mosi

Mosi Dane'el

I am Mosi Dane'el and I am interested in how number ability relates to health. Specifically, I examine how number ability influences health outcomes and nutrition label use/accuracy. I am also earning a Masters in Public Health at the University of Texas at Houston with a focus on obesity prevention. Finally, I am also earning two certificates, one in Public Health informatics (how data is entered in medical environments) and quantitative analysis.

Naz

Nazanin Heydarian

Nazanin Heydarian is a PhD student in the Health Psychology program at UTEP. She recently completed her masters degree in Clinical Psychology and is earning LPC licensure. Her research interests include attitudes towards female gender roles in Latino culture, attitudes about people with disability, and acceptance of vaccination. Nazanin has mentored over 11 undergraduate students in research and statistical methods, and professional development. Nazanin aims to be a researcher in a medical school setting, conducting research and mentoring medical students with their research efforts.

Ally Hughes

Ally is a fourth year Health Psychology doctoral student. Her research is focused on judgment and decision making regarding health decisions using internet resources.

Dessaray

Dessaray Gorbett

I am interested in assessing variables associated with gambling behavior. I am currently assessing the relationship between social media advertisements and their effect on gambling behavior. I also work on A Smoke Free Paso del Norte helping with efforts in smoking cessation, policy work, and education within our community.

John Capps

My research interest focuses around the role of Health behaviors on cognitive functioning. Specifically I am investigating frontal lobe hemodynamic response to physical and cognitive tasks and how the brain's response is associated with cognitive performance. I am in the Health Psychology Ph.D. track looking to obtain a certificate in quantitative analysis. I also work as a web developer for Frontera Tec.

Robert

Robert McCreary

I'm Robert. My field of research is more in organizational psychology, in particular the study of group cohesion in the workplace. I plan to decorate a decision tree with applicable social theories and see which branch bears more fruit. My ultimate goal is to create or expand on a practical model which speeds up the process of integrating members in an organization, in a manner that both subjectively and objectively does good to both the organization and its members.

giovanna perez

Giovanna Perez

Giovanna M. Perez received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas State University in 2014. She is currently a non-degree seeking student at the University of Texas at El Paso. Her research interests include depression and anxiety, minority mental health, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
